Science Guide has published a series of three articles on sexual harassment in Dutch academia, written by Ingeborg van der Ven. They have spoken to female academics about their experiences with harassment and interviewed managers on their role in tackling harassment.
Part One
In the first article, three female academics share their personal story on how they had to deal with harassment and power abuse by a colleague or supervisor.
Part Two
The second article analyses how academic institutions act on reports of harassment and describes how procedures and regulations fail to protect women who reported the behaviour.
Part Three
In the last article of this series, various managers working in the academic world share their view on the academic work climate and their search for ways to tackle harassment.
