“Four men colleagues asked me (at different occasions): ‘Did you get this position because you are a woman?’ I was surprised that people still think this way, and even more surprised that they said it out loud. […] It makes you wonder: if four colleagues dare to ask this question, how many others are thinking the same thing? […] Also, in the second week of my employment, my supervisor advised me not to get pregnant. […] I reported both incidents with the manager, but he told me to just ignore it. […] These may be relatively small things, but they make me feel very unwelcome, and I’m not sure whether the academic world is the right place for me” .
